LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Wind Ensemble’s March concert (Wednesday, March 7, 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall) will feature the world premiere of Through My Eyes, a large-scale work by University of Nebraska DMA composition candidate Marat Sanatullov conducted by DMA conducting associate Christopher Brandt. The collaboration will also include performances of Kathryn Salfelder’s Cathedrals, Robert Spittal’s Pacem, and Michael Daugherty’s Bells for Stokowski –an array of characters, styles, and textures that is sure to inspire.

Directed by Carolyn Barber, the Wind Ensemble is the university’s premiere concert band. Its select mission is to provide instrumentalists of advanced technical proficiency a pre-professional ensemble experience. With an emphasis on 20th century American compositions, the Wind Ensemble’s repertoire reflects the most recent technical and textural innovations, as well as the rich tradition of wind and percussion music extending back to the Renaissance.

Tickets: General Admission $5; Students/Seniors $3
