LINCOLN, Neb.— The Big Red Singers and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble will have a joint performance on Sunday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m. in University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music’s Kimball Recital Hall.

Directed by Nick McGraw, Nebraska’s Big Red Singers is an ensemble featuring some of the university’s finest musicians. Outstanding performers from all over the university, representing a variety of different majors from music education to engineering to psychology and including many students involved in the Greek system, work together in the development of entertaining, high-energy, fully-choreographed shows. The ensemble’s repertoire is chosen from a wide variety of popular music as well as music from Broadway.

The Vocal Jazz Ensemble is a small choir, open to all members of the University community by audition. Students are instructed in jazz style, ensemble singing, lyric delivery, solos and improvisation. The ensemble performs arrangements of standard and contemporary jazz repertoire in collaboration with a rhythm section. VJE participates in various performances both on and off-campus each semester, including appearances at regional jazz festivals.

Tickets are General Admission $5; Students/Seniors $3. The performance will also be live Webcast: https://arts.unl.edu/music/webcasts.
