University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music’s Matthew Carter, student of GKSOM’s Alisa Belflower, won second place in the lower college (freshmen and sophomore) men’s musical theatre category in NATS National Student Auditions in Las Vegas this past weekend.

Logan Langholdt, also a student of Belflower, was chosen from senior men to perform in a masterclass by Broadway veteran Alton Fitzgerald White -- famous for his over 4000 performances as “Mufasa” in THE LION KING.

The GKSOM had five students travel to Las Vegas and perform in the national semifinals in Las Vegas: Alison Gillespie (student of Kate Butler); Skyler Dykes, Dakota Mathew, Langholdt, Carter, along with Patty Kramer (who could not attend), who are all students of Belflower, who had more national semifinalists in this competition than any voice professor in the nation. National Semifinalists represent the top 14 singers in the nation in their age/training level category.
