Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist series features Casebeer, Graves
Lincoln, Neb.--Doug Casebeer, the associate director and artistic director of ceramics at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado, and Kris Graves, a photographer and publisher based in New York and London, will present the next Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lectures.
Casebeer will present his lecture on Wednesday, Jan. 24 in Richards Hall Rm. 15. Graves will present his lecture on Thursday, Jan. 25 in Woods Art Building Rm. 11. Each lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist series begins with Clements
Lincoln, Neb.--Ten artists will be presenting Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist lectures this spring in the School of Art, Art History & Design, including five artists during the month of January.
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design’s Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to Nebraska each semester to enhance the education of students.
Each lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Sapirstein receives prestigious NEH fellowship
Lincoln, Neb.--School of Art, Art History & Design Assistant Professor of Art History Philip Sapirstein is among two University of Nebraska–Lincoln faculty who earned fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities, one of the most prestigious honors in the discipline.
Sapirstein, along with Melissa Homestad, professor of English and program faculty of women's and gender studies, were among the eight percent of applicants to receive NEH fellowships this year.

Capstone Exhibition on display Dec. 8-15
Lincoln, Neb.—The Capstone Exhibition will be on display Dec. 8-15 in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. This exhibition features the work of graduating undergraduate studio art and graphic design students from the School of Art, Art History & Design.
A closing reception will be held on Friday, Dec. 15 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery with awards announced at 6 p.m.

Student art sales are Dec. 8-9
Lincoln, Neb.— The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design is hosting the Clay Club’s Fall Sale and Raffle and the Fine Art Photo Club’s Print Sale and Raffle on Dec. 8-9 in Richards Hall.
Hours for both sales are Friday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both sales are in Richards Hall. The pottery sale will take place in Rm. 118, while the Photo Sale will take place in the conference room in Rm. 121. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted at both sales.

Graphic design senior selected for American Ad Federation’s Most Promising Multicultural Students Program
Lincoln, Neb.--Carlos Velasco, a senior graphic design major from Shelby, Nebraska, is one of four University of Nebraska–Lincoln students and one of 50 nationwide selected for the American Advertising Federation’s Most Promising Multicultural Students Program.
The other three Nebraska honorees are College of Journalism and Mass Communications students Anna Fobair, Wellesley Michael and Julia Nguyen.
