Chris Watson

As Director of Recruitment, Chris is responsible for the undergraduate recruitment initiatives and works closely with the UNL Office of Admissions on recruiting activities. He assists our academic units with auditions, portfolio reviews and scholarship awarding for incoming undergraduate students. He is also responsible for organizing the annual Nebraska Young Artist Awards and other special recruiting events.

Chris comes to us from Lincoln Public Schools, where he was the Head Band Director and Instructional Team Lead and former Department Chair at Lincoln High School. While there, he tripled the annual new band students by building stronger relationships with families, students and area schools and routinely planned events, including concerts, recruitment visits, open houses, marching band competitions, and more. Chris is also the owner of Wild Caribou Music. Chris is an alumnus of the Glenn Korff School of Music, having received his M.M. in Music Education, Curriculum and Instruction and his B.M.E. from UNL.
