Hixson-Lied Student Support Grants
Hixson-Lied Student Support Grants are available to Hixson-Lied students who have EMERGENCY needs. These grants cannot be used for books, tuition or library fines; the grants are available for emergencies like car repairs, bus fares, childcare, housing expenses or medical/dental emergencies.
The Hixson-Lied Student Support Fund provides grants for students making satisfactory progress towards a degree who are faced with financial emergencies that would significantly but temporarily disrupt their studies. Any undergraduate or graduate student in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is eligible. Any faculty or staff member of the college can apply directly to the dean for student support funds. The Dean relies on your vigilance in identifying those in need of assistance and your discretion in recognizing true emergencies.
If you know of someone with such an emergency during this semester, please fill out the nomination form below. Remember, you must login to access the form.
The Dean determines whether a student merits an award. The Financial Aid Office must also approve awards. Please note, this award may be considered taxable income.
We do not want you to refer students directly to the dean or send them to the dean’s office. If you have any additional questions, please contact Joy Boggs, Assistant Dean for Business and Financial Affairs (jboggs4@unl.edu | (402) 472-9339 ) Please keep your ears open and thank you for your assistance.
