Recent drawing, painting, sculpture alumni featured in next Eisentrager-Howard Gallery exhibition
Lincoln, Neb.--Opening Jan. 20 at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Eisentrager-Howard Gallery is "Continuum: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture Alumni Invitational."
Twenty-two drawing, painting and sculpture alumni from the Department of Art and Art History will be presenting their work in the exhibition, which runs Jan. 20-Feb. 5.
A First Friday closing reception will be held on Friday, Feb. 5 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery.
Also, a panel discussion with the artists will be held on Friday, Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 14

Two recent art alums exhibit at Prescott Gallery
Lincoln, Neb.--Two recent Department of Art and Art History alumni are featured in the exhibition titled "Of the Land" at Lincoln's Prescott Gallery."Of the Land" is an exhibition of photographs by Nathan Kathol, a December 2015 BFA graduate from Lincoln, Neb., and wall-mounted sculptures by Chase McClaren, an August 2015 BFA graduate from Grand Island, Neb. Both artists are recipients of the Perry Family Award.

Murphree's 'Five-Day Feast' Capstone project on display through Dec. 18
Lincoln, Neb.--Ian Murphree wants to feed you this week as part of his Capstone Exhibition.“I like helping people, serving people, making things with your hands,” he said. “That’s why we do this art thing.”
His performance piece, “Five Day Feast,” is in the MEDICI Gallery on the first floor of Richards Hall Dec. 14-18. As part of the project, he serves a meal each day at noon for anyone who shows up to eat it.
Murphree says the project combines everything he has learned.

Graphic Design Symposium highlighted visual communications
Lincoln, Neb.-- The graphic design program in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Art and Art History hosted a symposium this September titled “Design + Social Justice” to highlight the visual communications, stories and portraits of revolutionary social movements and examined how graphic design is a tool for organizing and inspiring people to act.“It’s been a whirlwind,” said Assistant Professor of Art Stacy Asher. “It’s been very exciting. I enjoyed seeing our students active and engaged with the work.”

Clay Club's annual sale is Dec. 11-12
Lincoln, Neb.--You may think that the most time-consuming degrees available at UNL involve the future doctors and lawyers of the world. However, take a walk by Woods and Richards Hall, any time of the day or night, and you will never cease to find student artists working around the clock. Whether witnessed by the gleaming lights shining from the various studios or by the warm orange glow of the ceramic kilns just outside Richards Hall, the students of the Department of Art and Art History are always abuzz. The 35 dedicated students of the UNL Clay Club are no exception.

Capstone Exhibition runs Dec. 11-18
Lincoln, Neb.—The Capstone Exhibition opens Friday, Dec. 11 at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. The exhibition runs through Dec. 18.A closing reception will be held on Friday, Dec. 18 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery.
Gallery hours for the exhibition will be Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m. There will be extended hours in conjunction with the Clay Club Sale on Friday, Dec. 11 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Prescott Gallery exhibition features UNL students, faculty, staff
Lincoln, Neb.--Prescott Gallery's newest exhibition, "Currents," an exhibition of artwork by students, faculty and staff at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, opens Dec. 4. Artwork in many styles, sizes and prices will be available for buyers to purchase and take home the same day.Participating faculty and staff artists include: Christy Aggens, Byron Anway, Margaret Bohls, Mark Cole, Andrea Maack, Alison Rash, Jesse Ross (Clementine Porcelain) and Amy Smith.

UNL's Murray to present AIA Lecture Nov. 4
Lincoln, Neb.—University of Nebraska–Lincoln Assistant Professor of Classics and Religious Studies Sarah Murray will present the first lecture on archaeology for the 2015-2016 season for the Lincoln-Omaha Society of the Archaeological Institute of America (AIA).Murray’s lecture, titled “From Lithographs to Holograms: The History of Images in Archaeological Research,” will be presented on Nov. 4 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Two exhibitions on display at Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in November
Lincoln, Neb.—Two exhibitions will be on display in November at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.On display in the west and center galleries will be “Nebraska’s Best: High School Artists from Southeast Nebraska.” The exhibition runs Nov. 6-24. A First Friday reception will be held on Nov. 6 from 6-8 p.m. Three awards of merit will be announced at 7 p.m.
Thirty-four students from high schools throughout southeast Nebraska will have their work on display.
