GKSOM student Goulet wins prestigious percussion scholarship
Glenn Korff School of Music Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance student Chris Goulet received quite an honor that was announced recently at PASIC (the Percussive Arts Society International Convention) in Indianapolis.
Goulet won the prestigious Armand Zildjian Percussion Scholarship -- a $2,000 award that goes directly to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to offset his tuition. It’s awarded to one university student in the country each year. Goulet won this competitive award by submitting videos of his orchestral percussion playing.

Moran Woodwind Quintet’s April concert has a venue change
The Moran Woodwind Quintet performance scheduled for April 8, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. has been moved to Westbrook Recital Hall. It was previously scheduled to take place in Kimball Recital Hall.

Steinway L donated by Ginsburg
The Glenn Korff School of Music is the proud new parents of a Steinway L! Donated by Lincoln native Gerald Ginsburg, the piano arrived in November. It is currently awaiting refurbishment and tuning under Piano Technician Adam Schulte-Bukowinski's careful attention. Ginsburg passed away earlier this year. Harp Studio schedules Spring recital for March

Amahl and the Night Visitors returns to Westbrook
The tradition of Amahl and the Night Visitors continues. Three mysterious Kings arrive at the home of a poor mother and her son. This heartwarming story of kindness, generosity, and miracles will be the perfect start to the holiday season for the entire family and takes place in the Westbrook Music Building (Room 130) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music on Saturday, December 14 at 1:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public, but you must be on the ticket list. Request your ticket online.

Musical Theatre Showcase coming up on December 13
If you love musical theatre, the Musical Theatre Showcase night is not to be missed. The performance takes place December 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall.
Scenes from both classic and more contemporary musicals will be performed in a free performance by University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s award-winning musical theatre students in the Glenn Korff School of Music. Coordinator of Musical Theatre Studies Alisa Belflower will host the showcase.
Free and open to the public.

Come have ‘Conversations’ with the UNL Wind Ensemble
Activity in the Ensemble Performance Lab has been buzzing since early October and the team is eager to collaborate with an audience once again. Join the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Wind Ensemble on December 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall as they engage four venerable and inventive characters in an ongoing game of strategy and finesse in “Conversations”. Percy Grainger, Gustav Holst, J.S. Bach and Paul Hindemith are at the table and we’ve saved a seat for you.
