‘The Reimagined Song’ coming to Kimball on April 13

LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music’s All-Collegiate Choir and Chamber Singers present “The Reimagined Song”, featuring art songs arranged for choir and a contemporary setting of Te Deum on Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

Time change for Musical Theatre Showcase

LINCOLN, Neb.— The Glenn Korff School of Music’s Musical Theatre Showcase performance on Friday, April 26 will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the Westbrook Recital Hall.  

It was previously scheduled for 5 p.m.

Korff School senior finishes 2nd in 2019 North American Vocal Competition

Lincoln, Neb.--Abby Kurth, a senior vocal performance major and theatre minor in the Glenn Korff School of Music from Bettendorf, Iowa, was awarded 2nd place in the 2019 North American Vocal Competition sponsored by music publisher Hal Leonard.

More than 1,000 student entries were received in this year’s annual competition. Kurth’s award was in the collegiate music theatre category for male and female young adult voices, and she was judged the highest-scoring female singer in the competition.

Amore String Quartet earns third place at MTNA

The Amore String Quartet has returned from earning third place at the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Competition-Chamber Music String. The Quartet includes undergrads Claudia Holm, An Tran, Travis Taylor and Riley Beranek.

In preparation for the competition, the Amore String Quartet increased its rehearsal time to four or five days a week. They also invited friends to a mock performance to simulate the competition environment.

Guitar ensemble performance to showcase variety of styles

LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Guitar Ensemble presents a program of music that showcases a variety of styles performed in different settings that include solo, duo, quartet, and quintet on Tuesday, April 2 at 8:45 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall.
