Capstone Exhibition opens Dec. 6 at Eisentrager-Howard Gallery

Lincoln, Neb.--The “Capstone Exhibition” will be on display Dec. 6-20 in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. This culminating experience features the work of graduating undergraduate candidates for Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degrees from the School of Art, Art History & Design.

There will be two receptions for this exhibition. The opening reception will be on First Friday, Dec. 6 from 5-7 p.m. The closing reception will be on Friday, Dec. 20 from 5-7 p.m. Perry Family, Cather Graphic Design and Gomez Art Supply Award winners will be announced in the Gallery at 6 p.m. during the closing reception. Selected by the School of Art, Art History & Design faculty, the awards are given to students whose works display creative and technical excellence.

Faculty leading the graphic design and studio art capstone courses this semester are Associate Professor of Graphic Design Stacy Asher and Professor of Art Robert Ladislas Derr, respectively.

Eight students will have their work on display from graphic design:  Marvontay Donovan, Crystal Holloway, Kierstin Kurczek, Angel Le, Jared Mikuls, Cora Nicholson, Danielle Shefke and Katherine Smith.

Nine studio art students will have their work on display: Austin Carstens, Shay Chamberlain, Sophie Johnson, Sam Loeffler, Luis Martinez, K.C. Peters, Amanda Reitan, Tian Xia and Yangjie Zhang.

Gallery hours for this show are Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m. There will be extended hours on Friday, Dec. 13 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. to coincide with the Clay Club and Photo Club sales. Admission to the gallery is free and open to the public.

Richards Hall is located at Stadium Drive and T streets on the university’s city campus. Parking is available in the nearby Stadium Drive Parking Garage (SDPG). More information about parking options and regulations is available at https://go.unl.edu/i5yd.
