Spring 2017 student art sales are April 28-29

Lincoln, Neb.— The School of Art, Art History & Design is hosting the Clay Club’s Spring Sale and Raffle and the Photo Club's Photo Sale on April 28-29 in Richards Hall.

Hours for the Clay Club sale are Friday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours for the Photo Sale are Friday and Saturday, April 28-29 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both sales are in Richards Hall. The pottery sale will take place in Rm. 118, while the Photo Sale will take place in the conference room in Rm. 121.

The Clay Club Sale will include works of art created by graduate students, undergraduate students, alumni and faculty in the School of Art, Art History & Design representing a broad range of aesthetics, techniques and concepts.

In addition to the sale, there will be a raffle of work donated by students, faculty and alumni. Tickets for the raffle can be purchased either day. The drawing will be held at 5 p.m. on Saturday, but winners need not be present to win.

Proceeds from the sale will fund the Clay Club visiting artist program and facilitate student attendance at annual professional conferences. Cash, checks and now credit cards will be accepted.

On Friday, April 28 at 8:30 a.m., there will be a guided collectors tour of the Clay Club sale. Get a sneak peek at the work on sale.

On Saturday, April 29 at noon, there will be a live kiln opening, so visitors will get a first look at fresh pots coming out of the kiln.

The work for the Photo Sale will be photos made by students in the Photo Club, both undergraduate and graduate. Items for purchase will include photo books, digital prints and framed photographs.

The sale includes work by the following undergraduate and graduate students:  Madeline Cass, Scott Cochran, Julianna Cooper, Austin Courdriet, Katie Cramer, Colleen Hacker, Audrey Jurek, Zora J. Murff, Megan Rhoades, John David Richardson, Megan Rook, Emily Wiethorn, Ashley Wilson, Danielle Young and Rana Young.

There will also be a raffle where people can buy tickets and win prints from Master of Fine Arts graduate students and Professor of Art Dana Fritz or Assistant Professor of Art Walker Pickering. Winners will be announced on April 29 at 5 p.m.
