Carson Open Studios event is Dec. 9

Lincoln, Neb.—Students in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts and Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film will host an Open Studios event on Friday, Dec. 9. All of the events listed are free and open to the public.

The schedule includes:
• 5-7 p.m. Emerging Media Arts Open Studios at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts, 13th and Q sts. The event showcases work in progress by Bachelor of Fine Arts in emerging media arts students.

• 5-7 p.m. Theatre Design and Technical Production students will also hold an Open Studios event at the Carson Center. 

“The Carson School’s Design and Technology program will be showing student’s conceptual art work and process paperwork from their Master’s Studio course, Rendering, 3D Modeling and Technical Drawing courses, as well as Technical Direction and Production projects, Director and Designer Collaboration, Principles of Design, and more student centered work from realized productions of the past semester,” said J.D. Madsen, associate professor of theatre. “The students will be on hand to discuss their work with you.”

• 7:30 p.m. Theatre performance students will present their solo performances titled “Objectivity: The Solo Performance Project” in the Lab Theatre, 3rd floor of the Temple Building, located at 12th and R sts. These are 10 original, devised solo performances, written and performed by the seniors.
