Lincoln, Neb.--Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts Founding Director Megan Elliott was one of 10 essayists commissioned by the National Endowment of the Arts to accompany the publishing of the report “Tech as Art: Supporting Artists Who Use Technology as a Creative Medium.”

The report is the result of a two-year research initiative exploring the multifaceted creative practices of artists who engage with digital technologies.

Elliott’s essay is titled “Teaching the Co-Creators of a New Economy from Lincoln, Nebraska” and is available at https://go.unl.edu/n2ck.

“It was an honor to be selected to write an essay to accompany this important report,” Elliott said. “I was pleased to be able to write about the work that we’re doing here in Lincoln with the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts and publicize that work to a larger audience.”

Elliott writes: “Innovations happen at the margins, and in this country, the margins happen to be in the middle.”
