XR consultant Fink to speak at IGNITE April 2

Lincoln, Neb.--XR consultant, author and columnist Charlie Fink will speak at the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts’ IGNITE colloquium on Friday, April 2.

IGNITE begins at 12:30 p.m. CT via Zoom. It is a colloquium for all Carson Center students, which involves guest lectures, workshops and seminars around creative and professional development. The event is free and open to the public and accessible at https://go.unl.edu/ignitespring

Fink, a Forbes columnist and author of “Remote Collaboration, Virtual Conferences and the Future of Work,” will be talking about “building the metaverse, emphasizing the role of user generated content in VR.” He teaches XR (extended reality) at Chapman University Film School in Orange, California.

Fink is a consultant to some of the leading companies in the XR (AR/VR) world. As a 28-year-old junior executive at Disney, Fink famously came up with the idea for “The Lion King.” In the 1990s, he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of VR pioneer, Virtual World Entertainment. Variety calls him “XR’s explainer-in-chief.”
