Co-presented with the Lied Center for Performing Arts
Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 7:30 pm Lied Center for Performing Arts
Adults $36 | Students $18

Truly one of the world's greatest in modern dance, the Martha Graham Dance Company is in a class all its own. Described as one of the seven wonders of the artistic universe, the performance will feature Graham's masterpiece, "Appalachian Spring," with music by Aaron Copland.

Recognized as one of the greatest artists of the 20th century Martha Graham created a movement language based upon the expressive capacity of the human body. It all began in 1926 when Martha Graham started teaching a group of dancers who had been drawn to her creative work. Thus began the Martha Graham Studio, to remain under her personal guidance for the next 66 years.

The Interdisciplinary Arts Symposium is sponsored by the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts, presented, in part, by the Lied Center for Performing Arts, and funded, in part, by the Hixson-Lied Endowment.
