Anderson presents faculty recital Oct. 19

Lincoln, Neb.--Glenn Korff School of Music Professor of Trombone Scott Anderson will present a faculty recital with the Moran Quintet on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

The program includes Raymond Premru’s “Sonatina for Trombone and Woodwinds;” two movements from Gustav Mahler’s “Ruckertlieder;” Marc Lys’ “Cocktail;” Kazimierz Serocki’s Sonatina for Trombone and Piano” with Michael Cotton, piano; and Henri Busser’s “Cantabile et Scherzando.”

Anderson is the head of the brass and percussion area in the Glenn Korff School of Music. He holds the Vernon A. Forbes Chair as principal trombone in Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra. He is an active recitalist, chamber musician and orchestral musician.

The Moran Quintet is the resident faculty woodwind quintet of the Glenn Korff School of Music and includes John Bailey, flute; William McMullen, oboe; Diane Barger, clarinet; and Nathan Koch, bassoon. Formed in 1986 and named for the late John Moran, former director of the School of Music, the quintet has toured and performed extensively.
