Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Singers perform Oct. 14

Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music presents a combined concert featuring the Jazz Orchestra and Jazz Singers titled “All at Once” on Friday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. 

The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Visit https://music.unl.edu/webcasts the day of the performance for the link.

The Jazz Orchestra is under the direction of Associate Professor of Composition Greg Simon. Their program includes Derrick Gardner’s “Heavens to Murgatroyd!,” Neal Hefti’s “Lil’Darlin’,” Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely,” arranged by Bill Holman, Christine Jensen’s “Dancing Sunlight” featuring Associate Professor of Trumpet Darryl White, and Sammy Nestico’s “Magic Flea.”

The Jazz Singers are under the direction of Lecturer David von Kampen. Their program includes “Quality Time,” “Wallflower Lonely, Cornflower Blue,” “Play Ball” and “Blizzard of Lies,” all by Dave Frishberg and arranged by von Kampen.
