Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music’s Jazz Singers will perform on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall Rm. 119.

The concert is free and open to the public. It will also be live webcast. Visit https://music.unl.edu/webcasts the day of the concert for the link.

The Jazz Singers are under the direction of Glenn Korff School of Music Lecturer David von Kampen.

The Jazz Singers will be joined by Bird Watching, a local jazz trio of UNL alumni Sean Lebita, Jonah Bennett (a former Jazz Singers bassist) and Erik Skoog (a former Jazz Singers vocalist/drummer), and the Elkhorn North High School vocal jazz ensemble ENsync, under the direction of Casey Allen.

“Bird Watching will open the concert with a few tunes, followed by Elkhorn North’s vocal jazz ensemble, directed by UNL Jazz Singers alum Casey Allen,” von Kampen said. “They’ve collaborated with us before, and we’re excited to welcome them back.”

Jazz Singers will close the concert, reprising music from their concerts with the Oakwood University Aeolians on Nov. 3 and Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra on Dec. 8 in the smaller setting, as well as a Kerry Marsh arrangement of saxophonist Kenny Garrett’s composition “Sing a Song of Song.”
