Johnny Carson Foundation gives $5M to support more Husker students

Lincoln, Nebraska, Oct. 22, 2021 — A $5 million gift from the Johnny Carson Foundation, announced Oct. 22 by the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, will provide tuition assistance to even more students at the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.

Painter Kahlhamer to present next Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist series lecture

Lincoln, Neb.—Painter Brad Kahlhamer will present the next Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 5:30 p.m CST via Zoom.

Kahlhamer is an artist who lives and works in New York City. He was born in Tucson, Arizona, and earned his B.F.A. at the University of Wisconsin-Fond Du Lac.

Souto’s ‘Diaspora II’ opens Oct. 22 at Kiechel Fine Art

Lincoln, Neb.--School of Art, Art History & Design Director Francisco Souto’s newest exhibition, “Diaspora II,” opens Friday, Oct. 22 at the Kiechel Fine Art Gallery in Lincoln.

The exhibition runs Oct. 22 through Dec. 3 at the gallery, located at 1208 O St. An opening reception will be held Friday, Oct. 22 from 5-8 p.m. with an artist talk at 6:30 p.m.

Glenn Korff School of Music presents “Celebration of Victoria Bond”

Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music presents a “Celebration of Victoria Bond” on Monday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

Lincoln, Neb.—The first Flyover new music concert will be held on Friday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. The concert is free and open to the public.

The Flyover New Music Series is the new music series presented by composition students in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music. The series is administered and overseen by composition faculty and students.

Glenn Korff School of Music presents two Evenings of Choir

Lincoln, Neb.—The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music will present an Evening of Choirs on Oct. 14 and 26.

The first Evening of Choirs performance will be held Thursday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Newman Center, 320 N. 16th St. in Lincoln. The concert is free and open to the public. This concert features performances by University Singers and the All-Collegiate Choir.

The upcoming performances will be:
