Percussion Ensemble performs Dec. 9
Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music’s Percussion Ensemble, under the direction of Associate Professor of Music Dave Hall, will perform on Thursday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

Carson Open Studios events Dec. 10
Lincoln, Neb.--Students in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film and Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts will host an Open Studios event on Friday, Dec. 10 from 4-9 p.m. The events are free and open to the public.

Capstone Exhibition opens Dec. 13
Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design will present the work of graduating undergraduate students in the upcoming Fall 2021 Capstone Exhibition, which will have both online and in-person components.
This biannual experience is held at the end of the fall and spring semesters and presents the work of each semester's graduating Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) seniors in studio art and graphic design as a culmination of their coursework and exploration.

Carson Center student-produced NFTs to be auctioned, exhibited at Great Plains Museum

Global experiences lead art alumna to teach in Japan
Lincoln, Neb.--Mikayla Zulkoski, who graduated from the School of Art, Art History & Design last May with majors in art and global studies, is leaving in January for up to a year to return to Japan to teach through the JET program (Japan Exchange and Teaching Program).
The JET Program is a competitive employment opportunity that allows young professionals to live and work in cities, towns and villages throughout Japan. Most serve as Assistant Language Teachers and work in public and private schools throughout Japan.

Lee named Chancellor’s Scholar
Lincoln, Neb.--Brenda Lee, who will graduate in December with a B.F.A. in graphic design, has been named a Chancellor’s Scholar, the highest academic award the University of Nebraska–Lincoln offers.
Lee is one of only 18 student scholars graduating with this honor in December. These students have earned an A in every undergraduate class.
“This honor means so much to me,” Lee said. “It is an acknowledgement and celebration of my hard work and dedication throughout my time at UNL as a student. I hope this makes my family, friends and professors proud.”
