UNL Jazz Ensembles ‘Kickoff’ 2018-19 season

Saxophone Day canceled

LINCOLN, Neb.— Saxophone Day, scheduled for October 27, 2018 has been canceled. The Bob Sheppard performance, scheduled for October 26 in Westbrook Recital Hall with members of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Jazz Faculty will still take place.

UNL’s Symphonic Band to celebrate the music of Leonard Bernstein

Nebraska high school juniors invited to apply for Nebraska Young Artist Awards

Lincoln, Neb.--The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is seeking applications for the 22nd annual Nebraska Young Artist Awards.

The Nebraska Young Artist Awards annually recognize 11th grade students from Nebraska who are gifted and talented in the areas of visual art, dance, music, theatre, and emerging media arts. These students exemplify the pinnacles of creativity in one of the fine and performing arts.

Symphony blockbusters coming to Kimball on Sunday, October 7

LINCOLN, Neb.— On Sunday, October 7 at 3 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music ‘s Symphony Orchestra will present the opening concert of its 2018-2019 season. Under the direction of Dr. Tyler Goodrich White, the program will open with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved Symphony No. 40 in G minor and will close with Dmitri Shostakovich’s powerful Symphony No.

UNL Wind Ensemble opens season with ‘Catharsis’

TCB Saxophone Quartet to perform in Westbrook

LINCOLN, Neb.— Paul Haar (soprano saxophone), Nicholas May (alto saxophone), Wade Howles (tenor saxophone) and Bob Fuson (baritone saxophone), collectively known to enthusiastic audiences as the TCB Saxophone Quartet, bring the sounds of Latin America to the Glenn Korff School of Music. ‘Moods and Dreams’ opens Flyover New Music Series season
