Well-Being Coaching available via walking
Big Red Resilience and Well-being (BRRWB) is expanding its options for students to receive well-being coaching.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the BRRWB office in the University Health Center has been closed to in-person appointments for the safety of both students and well-being staff. Individual coaching session have been limited to phone and Zoom sessions.
Starting August 24, an in-person 'walking session' has been added as a new option for students to receive their well-being coaching. This new style of appointment removes the barrier that phones and Zoom sometimes create—which prevent students from having a true person-to-person connection with their well-being coach—while still keeping everyone safe.
At each walking appointment, a student will talk with their coach in-person in an outdoor setting while they stroll and discuss well-being goals and strategies for the student's daily life.
Both student and coach are required to wear face coverings during the session and comfortable walking shoes are encouraged.
Additional details can be found on the Big Red Resilience & Well-being website.
