Lincoln, Neb.--The Nebraska Repertory Theatre and the Lied Center for Performing Arts announce a change in production for their March, 2018 joint venture.

The new production is AVENUE Q by Jeff Whitley, music & lyrics by Robert Lopez & Jeff Marx. Dates of production remain the same: March 2 - March 16, 2018, at the Lied Center’s Johnny Carson Theater.

Smart, hilarious, risqué and full of heart, AVENUE Q is Broadway’s smash-hit Tony award winner for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. Nebraska Rep’s Artistic Director, Andy Park, will direct the production. Park describes the musical as “An explosion of catchy music, gut-busting comedy and amazing puppetry –  it’s a puppet show for grown-ups!”  According to Park, “Avenue Q is about finding your purpose in life -– whether you are young or old, gay or straight, yellow, green or blue. It fits perfectly with The Rep’s mission of producing work that challenges the heart and promotes an inclusive community,” continues Park.  AVENUE Q contains adult content and themes including full puppet nudity.

The production previously in this slot, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE DEATH STAR by Curt Bright, is being rescheduled to a future date after June of 2018.

Patrons who currently have tickets for A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE DEATH STAR may exchange them for AVENUE Q by contacting the Lied Center Ticket Office. Patrons who opt not to exchange DEATH STAR tickets for AVENUE Q may ask for a refund or exchange their tickets for an alternate production on the Lied Center’s 2017-18 Season. All ticketing questions should be directed to (402) 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231.
