Lincoln, Neb.--Theatrix, the student-run theatre company within the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, continues its 2017-2018 season with Stupid F##king Bird, written by Aaron Posner and directed by University of Nebraska–Lincoln student Paul Schack.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30-Dec. 2 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3. All performances take place in the Lab Theatre in the Temple Building at 12th and R Streets. Stupid F##king Bird contains mature language, adult themes and artificial gunshots that may not be suitable for all audiences.

Tickets may be purchased for $7 online by visiting or at the door one hour prior to performance in the Lab Theatre’s third floor lobby (cash only; seats subject to availability).

“This play is a deconstruction of the classic The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, while most of the characters are similar and the plot follows the same essential progression, the play has been adjusted and adapted to more effectively serve a contemporary audience. The Seagull and Stupid F##king Bird both deal with the passions experienced by people under the pressures and pains of unrequited love. As an artist and as a human of this Earth I believe people are becoming complacent. They have forgotten how to give their love away and settle for less than they desire. It’s our intention that after viewing the show you will leave the theatre with something more inside your heart. As Con says, 'Forms that can make you feel like living Better or Fuller or More! We need bigger hearts! We need wider minds and better ideas and we need them now.'"--Paul Schack
