Lincoln, Neb.--Theatrix, the student-run theatre company in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, presents “Based on a Totally True Story” by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and directed by Philip Crawford.

Performances are Feb. 28-March 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Lab Theatre, which is located on the third floor of the Temple Building. Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 students and are available at https://unltheatretickets.universitytickets.com/ or cash only at the door.

“Based on a Totally True Story” tells the story of Ethan, a semi-successful comic book writer by day (he writes “The Flash” for DC Comics) and a struggling playwright by night. Ethan’s world is turned upside down when a veteran Hollywood producer decides she wants to turn one of Ethan’s unproduced plays into a big-budget horror movie—possibly starring Nicole Kidman.

Hearts are broken, lessons learned and dreams deferred in this quirky, offbeat romantic comedy of manners.
