Theatrix presents 'Dry Land' Nov. 1-4

Lincoln, Neb.--Theatrix, the student-run theatre company within the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, continues its 2018-2019 season with Dry Land, written by Ruby Rae Spiegel and directed by University of Nebraska–Lincoln student, Kaitlin Triplett.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1, 2, 3 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 4. All performances take place in the Lab Theatre in the Temple Building at 12th and R Streets. Dry Land contains mature content that may not be suitable for all audiences.

Tickets may be purchased for $7 online by visiting www.unltheatretickets.com or at the door one hour prior to performance in the Lab Theatre’s third floor lobby (cash only; seats subject to availability).

"Between swim practice, college prep, and relationship drama, high school is hard enough. As if this wasn't enough for Amy, an unwanted pregnancy plunges her into the deep end. But by enlisting her teammate, Ester, these two young women just might find a way to pull each other ashore." Said director Kaitlin Triplett.

Theatrix’s production of Dry Land is directed by senior theatre directing/management major Kaitlin Triplett and features performances by junior theatre performance major Michaella Deladia, junior theatre performance major and business minor Kami Cooper, sophomore theatre performance major Emma Parizek and freshman theatre performance major Matthew Blom.

Costume Design for the production is done by junior theatre performance major Taylor Winks, with sound designed by junior theatre design/technical production major emphasis lighting Jordan Taylor Thomas, and lights designed by Cameron L Strandin, sophomore theatre design/technical production major emphasis lighting. Stephanie Locke, sophomore theatre design/technical production major emphasis scenic design, is the props masters. Sophomore theatre directing/management major Kayci Johnston, is the stage manager and will be assisted by freshman theatre design/technical production major emphasis stage management Shannon Sullivan. Liam Romano, freshman theatre design/technical production major, will be the assistant technical director for this show.

Theatrix is a student-run theatre company that works under the umbrella of the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film in the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts.
