Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist series begins Feb. 15 with Kreimer
Lincoln, Neb.--Seven artists will be presenting Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar lectures this spring in the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design. The series begins with sculptor and musician Jay Kreimer on Feb. 15.
The School of Art, Art History & Design’s Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist & Scholar Lecture Series brings notable artists, scholars and designers to Nebraska each semester to enhance the education of students.

36th Annual Juried Undergraduate Art Exhibition opens Feb. 3
Lincoln, Neb.—The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Eisentrager-Howard Gallery will host the 36th Annual Undergraduate Juried Exhibition. The exhibition opens with a First Friday reception on Friday, Feb. 3 from 5-7 p.m. and continues through March 3.
A closing reception will be held Friday, March 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery with awards presented at 6 p.m. More than 10 awards will be announced, including the Freshman Award, Sophomore Award and the Faulkner Memorial Awards.

Sturm’s book nominated for ARSC award
Lincoln, Neb.--Hixson-Lied Professor of Double Bass and Jazz Studies Hans Sturm’s book, “75 Years on 4 Strings: The Life and Music of François Rabbath,” has been nominated for the 2023 Association for Recorded Sound Collections (ARSC) Awards for Excellence in Historical Recorded Sound Research.

Guest artist Marshall presents Beethoven’s ‘Diabelli Variations’

Fritz’s new book explores Nebraska National Forest and Grasslands
Lincoln, Neb.--Hixson-Lied Professor of Art Dana Fritz’s latest book, “Field Guide to a Hybrid Landscape,” will be published by the University of Nebraska Press in January 2023.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase at a book signing on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. at Francie & Finch Bookshop, located at 130 S. 13th St. in Lincoln.

Theatrix to hold spring musical auditions Dec. 9-10
Lincoln, Neb.--Theatrix, the student-run theatre company in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, is holding auditions for its spring musical theatre production of “Ordinary Days.”
Auditions will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10 in the Lab Theatre (3rd floor Temple Building).
