Rogers returns to Nebraska with Army's Old Fife and Drum Corps
Lincoln, Neb.--Staff Sergeant Katie Rice Rogers (M.M. 2017) is a fife instrumentalist with the Army's Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps stationed at Ft. Myer in Arlington, Virginia. A small team from her unit will be performing in Omaha May 26-28 as part of the patriotic events for Memorial Day weekend.

Mattingly named interim director of Korff School
Lincoln, Neb.--Alan Mattingly, professor of horn and assistant director, has been named the interim director of the Glenn Korff School of Music. Mattingly’s appointment begins May 23 and continues until a new director is appointed.

Undergraduate research award presented
Lincoln, Neb.—Glenn Korff School of Music senior Zachary Cheek received an award from the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts, Office of Research and Economic Development and Office of Undergraduate Research in conjunction with the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Student Research Days in April.
Cheek won $250 for his presentation titled “The Impact of Afghan Opium Cultivation on the American Opioid Epidemic.”

Musical Theatre Cabaret is May 6-7
Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music presents A Musical Theatre Cabaret I and II on Friday and Saturday, May 6-7.
Musical theatre graduate and undergraduate students will be performing two cabarets each evening at 7:30 and 9 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall Rm. 119. The performances are free and open to the public.

UNL Campus Band performance May 1 will honor Butterfield

5 Retirements from the Glenn Korff School of Music
Lincoln, Neb.--Four faculty members and one staff member with a combined service total of 150 years are retiring this spring from the Glenn Korff School of Music.
The university community is invited to attend the two public celebrations planned for these retiring faculty and staff.
• Lecturer Alisa Belflower, who is the coordinator of musical theatre studies, is retiring after 22 years of service to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. There will be a private dinner to celebrate her retirement.
