Hixson-Lied College seeks new CAST ambassadors at open casting calls
Lincoln, Neb.--The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts is inviting all undergraduate students to audition for the 2016-2017 CAST on Feb. 18-19 from 3-6 p.m. in 103 Woods Art Building. Students should sign up for an interview timeslot at https://go.unl.edu/fpacast.The six students who are selected will serve as brand ambassadors for the college. CAST ambassadors will promote pride and develop awareness of the college and its academic programs through videos, social media, printed materials and special appearances.

UNL’s Potter presents ‘The Viola in Unusual Combinations’
LINCOLN, Neb.— University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Associate Professor of Viola Clark Potter will present a program of “The Viola in Unusual Combinations”, featuring performances with Kathleen Wychulis, harp; Joyce Besch, contrabassoon; Jamie Reimer, soprano; Paul Haar, saxophone; David Hall, vibraphone; and Mark Clinton, piano on Sunday, January 31 at 3 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. The music of three living composers will be heard along with two 20th century British composers.

Chiara to perform The Adolf Busch Legacy
LINCOLN, Neb.— On Friday, January 29, 2016 at 7:30pm, the Chiara String Quartet will be performing the third concert of the 2015-2016 Hixson-Lied Concert Series at Kimball Recital Hall (11th and R Streets). The program, titled The Adolf Busch Legacy, will feature a program of Busch’s Quintet for Saxophone and String Quartet with saxophonist Paul Haar and Beethoven’s String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 127.
