Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist series features Polak, Scott

Lincoln, Neb.--Jenny Polak and Dread Scott will present the next Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture on Wednesday, Jan. 31.

The lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15. It is free and open to the public.

KANDER & EBB: A CELEBRATION OF AMERICAN SONG

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music is proud to present the thirteenth annual CELEBRATION OF AMERICAN SONG on Monday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. This year's celebration honors the longest collaborating composer and lyricist team in the history of Broadway musicals, Kander and Ebb. As a composer, John Kander and with his lyricist partner, Fred Ebb, have contributed songs to over thirty Broadway musicals.

Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist series features Casebeer, Graves

Lincoln, Neb.--Doug Casebeer, the associate director and artistic director of ceramics at the Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado, and Kris Graves, a photographer and publisher based in New York and London, will present the next Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lectures.

Casebeer will present his lecture on Wednesday, Jan. 24 in Richards Hall Rm. 15. Graves will present his lecture on Thursday, Jan. 25 in Woods Art Building Rm. 11. Each lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. The lectures are free and open to the public.

Flyover New Music Series to present ’Cognizance’

LINCOLN, Neb.— The Flyover New Music Series, the new music series from the composition studio at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music, will have its first performance of the Spring semester “Cognizance” on Friday, January 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall. The series is administered and overseen by composition faculty and students.

Date change for Chamber Singers performance

LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Chamber Singers performance scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17 in Kimball Recital Hall has been changed to a joint performance with the University Singers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19 at Westminster Presbyterian Church.
