Symphony Orchestra’s Season Opener includes Flyover Country
LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Symphony Orchestra’s season opener will feature faculty member Karen Becker on cello on Sunday, October 8 at 3 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. It will include Flyover Country by Tyler White, in honor of Nebraska’s sesquicentennial; Cello Concerto No. 2 in D Major by Haydn and Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 43 by Sibelius.

Barnes to celebrate Franz Liszt’s birthday with Lisztomania

Carson School alumnus Flick is level designer for Sonic Mania videogame
Lincoln, Neb.--Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film Alumnus Brad Flick (B.F.A. 2010) worked on the creative team as a level designer for the new Sonic Mania video game released in August by SEGA.
Christian Whitehead, Headcannon and PagodaWest Games, who were all chosen for their work in the Sonic community, developed the game in collaboration with SEGA of America. Sonic Mania celebrates the series’ 25th anniversary and features the best of Classic Sonic, while pushing the envelope forward with 60 frames-per-second gameplay and pixel-perfect physics.

Flyover New Music Series debuts its first concert October 5
LINCOLN, Neb.— The Flyover New Music Series is the new music series from the composition studio at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music. The series is administered and overseen by composition faculty and students.
The debut Flyover New Music Concert will feature six stunning new works by composers in the Glenn Korff School of Music, including three students new in the fall 2017 term. The performance will take place in Westbrook Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 5.

'Tea Time Movie' skit actress Teresa Ganzel is next Carson Lecturer
