With their program entitled, Transitions, conducted by Tony Falcone, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Symphonic Band musically reflects on the concepts of letting go and moving forward on Tuesday, March 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

Art at Cedar Point Info Sessions available Feb. 24 & 27

Lincoln, Neb.--Two informational sessions have been scheduled to provide more information on the Art at Cedar Point 2017 field course, “Mixed Media:  Art and Nature,” which will be taught by Associate Professor of Art Eddie Dominguez from June 5-16.

The first info session will be held on Friday, Feb. 24 at 4:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 104, just prior to the closing reception for the Annual Undergraduate Juried Studio Art Competition.

The second info session will be held on Monday, Feb. 27 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Hardin Hall Lobby on East Campus.

Kimball Recital Hall hosts Large Brass Ensembles performance

LINCOLN, Neb.— The Large Brass Ensembles of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music will perform a recital on March 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall, originally scheduled for Westbrook Recital Hall. The performance is free and open to the public.

Play with the Chiaras Audition final takes place March 1

LINCOLN, Neb.— The winner of the annual Play with the Chiaras Audition will collaborate with the Chiara String Quartet to present a piece on a concert taking place on March 29th as part of the Hixson-Lied Concert Series at Kimball Recital Hall.

The final round for the audition will take place on March 1 in the Westbrook Recital Hall in the Glenn Korff School of Music starting at 7 p.m. The finalists are Hannah Bell, clarinet; Jordan Ellis, viola; Jennifer Son, cello.

Location changed for March 16 University Singers performance

LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music University Singers performance, originally scheduled for March 16 in Kimball Recital Hall, will now take place at the Boys Town Dowd Chapel beginning at 7:30 p.m.

University of Nebraska Theatre opens spring season with 'This Random World'

Lincoln, Neb.--Theatre at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln opens its spring semester season with a new play by Steven Dietz. "This Random World," directed by Professor Paul Steger, is a heart-breaking comedy of missed connections asking the question, “How often do we travel parallel paths through the world without noticing?”

Performances are March 2-4 and 7-11 at 7:30 p.m. and March 12 at 2 p.m. in the Studio Theatre, first floor, Temple Building, 12th & R streets.

UNL Opera bringing Far From Heaven to Kimball Hall stage

Far From Heaven is an operatic musical, which transports us to 1957 to meet the Whitakers, a nearly perfect young couple with a beautiful home in the suburbs and two young children. It will be performed by UNL Opera of the Glenn Korff School of Music on Friday, February 24 and Saturday, February 25 at 7:30 p.m. and again Sunday, February 26 at 3 p.m in Kimball Recital Hall on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
