Clinton’s upcoming “A.Major.Recital” opens Spring performance season

LINCOLN, Neb.— University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Professor of Piano Mark Clinton’s Thursday, January 12, 2017 performance features the monumental opus posthumous A Major Sonata of Schubert (written two months before the composer’s death), and the epic Sixth Sonata of Prokofiev (the first of the composer’s so-called “War Sonatas” written during World War II). These are two “major” piano sonatas in the key of A major occupying important positions in the classical canon, but with diametrically opposed musical perspectives!

Lied Center experience comes full circle with 'Hairspray' audition

Lincoln, Neb.--Like Tracy Turnblad from the musical "Hairspray," Michelle Ingle tends to latch onto the positives around her.

For instance, a single ticket to a musical performance ignited her life's passion and led to the senior theater performance major auditioning for her "dream role."

As a 12 year old, Ingle was able to see "Hairspray" on the stage at the Lied Center for Performing Arts when tickets were provided through the Lied's Performance Fund program, which grants 3,000 tickets annually to children who otherwise would not be able to attend a show.
