UNL/LPS String Project performance to take place at Park Middle School
LINCOLN, Neb.— The UNL/LPS String Project is a joint effort between the Glenn Korff School of Music at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Lincoln Public Schools. Its public concert will take place on Wednesday, November 28 at 6 p.m. at Park Middle School.

GKSOM students Niimori, Firkins recitals to be live webcast
LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music has added two Student Showcase Recitals to the webcast schedule.
First on Sunday, November 18 at 5 p.m. from Kimball Recital Hall will be Wataru Niimori. Niimori presents various styles of music: jazz (duo for oboe and piano), classical music (string quartet), dance music (electronic music) collaboration with two dancers, and film scoring. All of the music is composed by Niimori.

Nebraska team discovers 'extraordinary' Roman mosaic in Turkey
Lincoln, Neb.--A rare, second-century figural floor mosaic has been unearthed in the ancient Roman city of Antiochia ad Cragum on the southern coast of Turkey.
The newly discovered mosaic features unusual composition and risqué subject matter – essentially ancient dirty jokes about the mythological characters Narcissus and Ganymede. The mosaics adorned the floor of a marble-lined public latrine that apparently served patrons of the adjacent Great Roman Bath Complex and those attending events at a nearby bouleterion, or council house.

'Mother Courage' is epic masterpiece of struggle, survival
Lincoln, Neb.--The Nebraska Repertory Theatre presents the epic masterpiece of struggle and survival, “Mother Courage,” by Bertolt Brecht.

In this new adaptation of the classic play, the drama unfolds during the height of the American Civil War. While Mother Courage profits from the spoils of war, she faces the ultimate sacrifice.

Three GKSOM brass ensembles present ‘Multiplicity’
LINCOLN, Neb.— The Glenn Korff School of Music brass ensembles concert “Multiplicity” on Monday, November 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall showcases three of the Glenn Korff School of Music brass ensembles: The Trumpet Ensemble, directed by Dr. Darryl White; the Husker Horn Choir, directed by Dr. Alan Mattingly; and the Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble, directed by Professor Craig Fuller.
Tickets are available at the door the night of the performance: General Admission $5; Students/Seniors $3.

Theatrix continues its season with 'Dry Land' Nov. 1-4
Lincoln, Neb.--Theatrix, the student-run theatre company within the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, continues its 2018-2019 season with "Dry Land," written by Ruby Rae Spiegel and directed by University of Nebraska student, Kaitlin Triplett.
Performances are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 1-3 and 2 p.m. on Nov. 4. All performances take place in the Lab Theatre in the Temple Building at 12th and R streets. "Dry Land" contains mature content that may not be suitable for all audiences.
