UNL Symphony Orchestra hosts ‘Symphonic Dances’
LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music’s Symphony Orchestra will host “Symphonic Dances” on Friday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.
The performance will include Strauss: Emperor Waltz; Bernstein: Symphonic Dances from West Side Story and Rachmaninoff: Symphonic Dances.

Student art sales are Dec. 7-8
Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design is hosting the Clay Club’s Fall Sale and Raffle and the Fine Art Photo Club’s Print Sale and Raffle on Dec. 7-8 in Richards Hall.
Hours for both sales are Friday, Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Both sales are in Richards Hall. The pottery sale will take place in Rm. 118, while the Photo Sale will take place Rm. 112. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted at both sales.

Broadway star Duling to headline Nebraska Rep's annual 'The Holiday Cabaret'
Lincoln, Neb.--The Nebraska Repertory Theatre, Nebraska’s Actors’ Equity Association professional regional theatre, continues its 50th Anniversary year season Dec. 13 with its second annual holiday celebration, "The Holiday Cabaret," conceived and directed by Andy Park with Broadway star, Kally Duling headlining. Opening night is Thursday, Dec. 13 with additional 7:30 p.m. performances Dec. 14-15 and a 2 p.m. performance on Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Temple Building, 12th & R streets, in Lincoln.

Student Dance Project coming at the end of the month
LINCOLN, Neb.— This fall is the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music 15th Annual Student Dance Project, directed by Susan Ourada in the Mabel Lee Hall Dance Space (Room 304/310, 14th & Vine St.). The performance takes place at 7:30 p.m. each night on Friday, November 30 and Saturday, December 1.

School of Art, Art History & Design alumna wins major printmaking prize
Lincoln, Neb.--Emma Nishimura (M.F.A. 2013) has won the Queen Sonja Print Award. The award carries a $50,000 prize, along with a week-long residency in Sweden. Nishimura received the award Nov. 8 at a ceremony at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.
“It’s all feeling very surreal still,” Nishimura said of winning the award. “I was thinking it was just an incredible honor to be nominated. And then I found out I won, and I think I’m still speechless trying to talk about that.”
