Student composers take center stage at Wet Ink! events

LINCOLN, Neb.— Wet Ink!, a concert series spread over two nights, features never-before-heard music composed and performed entirely by students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music on April 21 and April 25, both starting at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall.

Eclectic performance coming up for Campus Orchestra

LINCOLN, Neb.— The Campus Orchestra is comprised of non-music major students from all over the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and will be performing its spring concert on Sunday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.

 This group displays the talent of students representing departments from all over campus. Led by the Glenn Korff School of Music graduate orchestral conductors, the orchestra presents an eclectic program featuring works by Vivaldi, Grieg and more.

Nebraska vocalists recognized at Hal Leonard vocal competition

Lincoln, Neb.--Six vocalists from the Glenn Korff School of Music won recognition recently in music publisher Hal Leonard's 2017 North American Vocal Competition.

Competing in the All Collegiate Musical Theatre Category:

2nd Place:  Liza Piccoli (B.M. freshman from Lincoln, Nebraska)
Honorable Mention:  Matthew Carter (B.M. freshman from Kearney, Nebraska)
Finalists:  Abby Kurth (B.A. junior from Bettendorf, Iowa) & Dakota Mathew (B.M.E. freshman from Harrisonville, Missouri)

Evenings of Dance returns to Lied Center’s Carson Theater

LINCOLN, Neb.— This year’s annual University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Dance Program’s Evenings of Dance Concert features the work of three internationally celebrated guest choreographers; two dance faculty members, whose work has also been seen around the world; two student works that have been presented for adjudication at the American College Dance Association Conference (ACDA) in Wichita, Kan. and for the first time there will be a performance by dance alumni who have founded “embi”, a dance collective.

Evening to feature Duets for Saxophone in Westbrook

LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Saxophone Studio is proud to present its Spring 2017 Studio Concert titled: TWO BY TWO: An Evening Featuring Duets for Saxophone on Monday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Recital Hall.

This concert will present works by such composers as Telemann, Ferling, Galante, Schmidt, Hindemith and more.

The performance is Free and open to the public.
