Pat Hazell to present next Carson Lecture Sept. 25
Lincoln, Neb.--Comedian and former “Seinfeld” writer Pat Hazell will present the next Carson Lecture on Friday, Sept. 25.
Hazell’s Carson Lecture will be at 3:30 p.m. in Howell Theatre, which is located on the first floor of the Temple Building, on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s City Campus at 12th and R sts. Collaboration key in upcoming vocal recital
LINCOLN, Neb.— University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music’s Jamie Reimer, soprano, and Kevin Hanrahan, tenor, will collaborate with guest pianist Matthew Larson in a vocal recital of German Lieder by Robert and Clara Schumann on Thursday, September 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.
These composers (husband and wife) are pillars in the solo vocal repertoire tradition. Repertoire includes Dichterliebe, Liebst du um Schönheit, and the Op. 78 duets.

Theatrix opens season with 'Facing East'
Lincoln, Neb,--Theatrix, a student-run theatre company within the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, will begin its season with the play "Facing East" by Carol Lynn Pearson.Chadwick Taylor, a second-year MFA directing student at UNL, will be directing the play.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 1, 2 and 3, and at 2 p.m. Oct. 4 in the Lab Theatre third floor of the Temple Building.

Hixson-Lied Visiting Artists in Ceramics to present lectures Sept. 22
Lincoln, Neb.--The Department of Art and Art History's Clay Club, with support from the Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Series, presents three emerging artists in ceramics as guest artists: Bri Murphy, Jana Evans and Lauren Karle. The three artists will give consecutive lectures beginning at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 in Richards Hall Rm. 218. The lectures are free and open to the public.

From Husker to American Ninja Warrior: Graff competes on hit NBC show
Lincoln, Neb.--Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film Alumna and Professional Stuntwoman Jessie Graff (B.A. 2007) competed this summer on the NBC television show, “American Ninja Warrior,” becoming the only woman to qualify for the Las Vegas finals, which began airing on Aug. 31.This was Graff’s second time competing on “American Ninja Warrior,” but her first time qualifying for the national finals in Las Vegas. Only those competitors who place in the top 15 of their regional finals make it to the final round in Las Vegas.

Clinton to present Three Musical Postcards from Vienna
LINCOLN, Neb.— University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Hixson-Lied Professor of Piano Mark Clinton will present Three Musical Postcards from Vienna during his faculty recital Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.
“The recital represents three very distinct musical “snapshots” from Vienna (Schubert in 1823, Brahms in 1861, and Schoenberg in 1909),” Clinton said. “Each of the three works holds an important place in the canon that we call the standard piano repertoire.”
