Clinton to present Three Musical Postcards from Vienna
LINCOLN, Neb.— University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Hixson-Lied Professor of Piano Mark Clinton will present Three Musical Postcards from Vienna during his faculty recital Thursday, September 17 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall.
“The recital represents three very distinct musical “snapshots” from Vienna (Schubert in 1823, Brahms in 1861, and Schoenberg in 1909),” Clinton said. “Each of the three works holds an important place in the canon that we call the standard piano repertoire.”

Nebraska National Exhibition opens Sept. 4 at Eisentrager-Howard Gallery
Lincoln, Neb.—The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Department of Art and Art History announces the fourth annual Nebraska National Undergraduate Juried Art Exhibition. The exhibition will feature the work of the best undergraduate student artists from across the country.The exhibition opens Sept. 4 and continues through Sept. 25 at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall. There will be a First Friday opening reception on Sept. 4 from 5-7 p.m. with the awards announced at 6 p.m.

Glenn Korff School of Music receives major gift from James and Rhonda Seacrest for Nebraska opera outreach
Lincoln, Neb.—The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts announced a major gift from James and Rhonda Seacrest, of Lincoln, Nebraska, during a freshman student recital at the Glenn Korff School of Music on Aug. 24.
The Seacrests have made a contribution to the University of Nebraska Foundation for the Glenn Korff School of Music to create the James C. and Rhonda Seacrest Tour Nebraska Opera Fund.

Design+Social Justice Symposium is Sept. 15-16
Lincoln, Neb.--The graphic design program in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Department of Art and Art History is hosting a symposium titled “Design + Social Justice” on Sept. 15-16. All events are free and open to the public.
The events and exhibitions of the symposium will highlight the visual communications, stories and portraits of revolutionary social movements and will examine how graphic design is a tool for organizing and inspiring people to act.
