Glenn Korff School of Music to host Barbara Hendricks
Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music will host UNL Alumna Barbara Hendricks on May 7-8. Hendricks will be giving the undergraduate commencement address and receive an honorary doctor of fine arts degree on May 9 at 9:30 a.m. at Pinnacle Bank Arena.On Thursday, May 7 from 3-4:30 p.m., Hendricks will present a masterclass to UNL voice students in the Glenn Korff School of Music in Rm. 119 of Westbrook Music Building with a light reception to follow. The masterclass is free and open to the public.

Department of Art and Art History hosts Summer Art Institute for high school students
Lincoln, Neb.—The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Department of Art and Art History is accepting registrations for its annual Summer Art Institute for high school students to be held June 7-12.
This four-day, five-night, hands-on art experience features UNL faculty and graduate students leading participants in workshops, guiding them through Lincoln’s vibrant art scene and introducing them to working artists in their studios.

Kosch wins Downbeat Student Music Award
University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music Junior John Kosch has been named a winner in Downbeat magazine’s 38th annual Student Music Awards.
Kosch won the Downbeat in Original Compositions – Large Ensemble; Undergraduate College Outstanding Compositions: “A New Hope”.

Department of Art and Art History hosts Spring Photo, Clay Club Sales May 1-2
Lincoln, Neb.—The Department of Art and Art History will host the annual Spring Photo Club and Clay Club Sales May 1-2 in Richards Hall.
The UNL Clay Club’s Sale and Raffle will be Friday, May 1 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 118.
The sale will include works of art created by graduate students, undergraduate students, alumni and faculty representing a broad range of aesthetics, techniques and concepts.
