Richmond to step down as Glenn Korff School Director

Lincoln, Neb--Dr. John W. Richmond is stepping down from his position as director of the Glenn Korff School of Music to become the Dean of the College of Music at the University of North Texas in Denton. He begins his new position on Aug. 1.

UNL Opera takes ‘Marriage of Figaro’ across Nebraska

Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music’s opera program is taking its production of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” on the road in May and completing a four-city tour across Nebraska, thanks to the generosity of the James C. and Rhonda Seacrest Tour Nebraska Opera Fund.

Glenn Korff School of Music awards announced at annual Honors Convocation

LINCOLN, Neb.— The Glenn Korff School of Music hosted its annual Honors Convocation on Thursday afternoon, April 28 in the Westbrook Recital Hall.

The Glenn Korff Distinguished Undergraduate and Graduate Artist/Scholar Awards are intended to recognize and reward excellence in performance and/or scholarship in our School. The winners of these prestigious awards are – Undergraduate: Hannah Bell; Graduate: Dimitra Kokkinopoulou.

Two Nordic masterpieces will be performed by UNL Symphony Orchestra

LINCOLN, Neb.— The UNL Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Tyler White, presents two Nordic masterpieces of the early twentieth century on Sunday, May 1 at 3 p.m. in the Kimball Recital Hall. The orchestra will be joined by Chiara String Quartet violinist Hyeyung Yoon in the Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47 of Jean Sibelius. Also on the program is the epic Symphony No. 5, Op. 50 of Carl Nielsen.
