"The Female Complex" at the MEDICI Gallery April 18-22
Lincoln, Neb.--“The Female Complex” will be on display in the MEDICI Gallery in Richards Hall from April 18-22.The exhibition will be curated and installed by Kristin Mahan as part of her final project for her gallery management class.
A closing reception will be held on Friday, April 22 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery, which is located on the first floor of Richards Hall.

UNL Graduate Student Breitbach to present lecture on her work April 18
Lincoln, Neb.—Amanda Breitbach, an MFA candidate in the Department of Art and Art History in May and a graduate fellow with the Center for Great Plains Studies, will present a lecture titled “Land/People” on her thesis work and research in the Center for Great Plains Studies on Monday, April 18 at 3:30 p.m. in the Great Plains Art Museum. The lecture is free and open to the public.Her thesis exhibition will be on display in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall from April 18-22. 2016 Nebraska Young Artist Award recipients announced
Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts has announced the winners of the 19th annual Nebraska Young Artist Awards.
The Nebraska Young Artist Awards annually recognize 11th grade students from Nebraska who are gifted and talented in the areas of visual art, dance, music, theatre, and film and new media. These students exemplify the pinnacles of creativity in one of the fine and performing arts.

Photographer Takashi Arai presents Hixson-Lied Visiting Artist Lecture April 5
Lincoln, Neb.--Photographer Takashi Arai will present the next lecture of the Hixson-Lied Visiting Artists & Scholars Lecture Series on Tuesday, April 5 at 5:30 p.m. in Richards Hall Rm. 15 on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln city campus. The lecture is free and open to the public.Arai first encountered photography while he was a university student studying biology. In an effort to trace photography to its origins, he encountered daguerreotype, and after much trial and error, he mastered the complex technique.
