Glenn Korff School of Music presents landmark 'Pierrot Lunaire'
The Glenn Korff School of Music will present Arnold Schoenberg’s landmark of early 20th century music, “Pierrot Lunaire” on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. The concert is free and open to the public and will also be webcast.

Property Master Dennis Parrish to visit Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film
Lincoln, Neb.--Hollywood Property Master Dennis Parrish will be visiting the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film on Friday, Sept. 26. He will present an open forum for faculty, students and staff from 1:30-3 p.m. in the Temple Building Rms. 204-205.Parrish is one of the most prolific property masters in the film industry over the past 50 years. He has 65 feature films to his credit since 1962.

Faculty Jazz Ensemble Concert rescheduled for November
Lincoln, Neb.--The University of Nebraska–Lincoln Faculty Jazz Ensemble will perform a recital featuring original works and arrangements they performed on their recent European tour on Wednesday, November 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119. The concert is free and open to the public.
Their summer tour included performances at The Montreux International Jazz Festival, Jazz at Vienne Festival, Jazz at Brienz Festival and an invitational performance at the United Nations.

Two events in College of Architecture this week
LINCOLN, NEB.--The College of Architecture has two special events on Friday, Sept. 19 that Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts faculty, students and staff are encouraged to attend.
The 2014-2015 Hyde Lecture Series kicks off Friday, Sept. 19 at 4:30 p.m. with a lecture by Robert Trempe, Hyde Chair of Excellence. The lecture will take place at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center and is free and open to the public.

Chiara’s Sirota to perform ‘New Works for Viola’ solo recital
Lincoln, NE — On Monday, September 22, 2014 at 7:30pm, violist and UNL faculty member Jonah Sirota will perform a recital featuring composer Robert Sirota’s Compendium de Lumine at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Kimball Recital Hall (11th and R Streets). The recital’s program, titled “New Works for Viola,” will also include the world premiere of Rodney Lister’s Complicated Grief and Damon Lee’s Still Untitled for Viola and Digital Tanpura.
