UNL/LPS String Project performance coming up at Park Middle School

LINCOLN, Neb.— The University of Nebraska-Lincoln/Lincoln Public Schools String Project performance will demonstrate what elementary-aged students have learned after ten weeks of classes working with students from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music on Wednesday, November 29 at 6 p.m. at Park Middle School.

Flyover’s second concert of the semester coming up Nov. 29

LINCOLN, Neb.— The Flyover New Music Series is the new music series from the composition studio at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music. The series is administered and overseen by composition faculty and students and its next performance will take place Wednesday, November 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Westbrook Recital Hall.

Graphic design senior selected for American Ad Federation’s Most Promising Multicultural Students Program

Lincoln, Neb.--Carlos Velasco, a senior graphic design major from Shelby, Nebraska, is one of four University of Nebraska–Lincoln students and one of 50 nationwide selected for the American Advertising Federation’s Most Promising Multicultural Students Program.

The other three Nebraska honorees are College of Journalism and Mass Communications students Anna Fobair, Wellesley Michael and Julia Nguyen.

Student Dance Project is Dec. 1-2

Lincoln, Neb.--The Glenn Korff School of Music presents the 13th annual Student Dance Project Dec. 1-2. This program of original work by student choreographers is directed by Associate Professor of Dance Susan Ourada.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. each night in Mabel Lee Hall Rm. 304/310. Mabel Lee is located at 14th and Vine streets.

Wristen’s new book provides adaptive strategies for small-handed pianists

Lincoln, Neb.--Brenda Wristen has co-authored a book titled “Adaptive Strategies for Small-Handed Pianists,” which has just been released by Oxford University Press. The book brings together information on biomechanics, ergonomics, physics, anatomy, medicine and piano pedagogy to focus on the subject of small-handedness and is the first to focus on the topic.

'Making History' exhibition showcases ceramic work at Nebraska

Lincoln, Neb.--“Making History,” an exhibition that showcases the work of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s School of Art, Art History & Design’s “Making History” ceramics class, will be on display Nov. 20-Dec. 1 in the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.

A First Friday closing reception will be held on Friday, Dec. 1 from 5-7 p.m. in the gallery.
