BFA Alumna receives Fulbright to go to Indonesia
Lincoln, Neb. - Recent UNL graduate Lindsay Graef has been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to go to Indonesia, where she will be an English teaching assistant. Graef, who received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in studio art at UNL, will be leaving her hometown of Lincoln for nine months this fall.

Annual Undergrad Studio Art Competition opens
Lincoln, Neb. - The Department of Art and Art History's 26th Annual Undergraduate Studio Art Competition opens March 15 and continues through March 29 at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall on the UNL city campus.
Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. A closing reception and announcement of awards will take place on Friday, March 29 from 5-7 p.m. in the Gallery, which is located on the first floor of Richards Hall at Stadium Drive and T streets.

Lighting student interviews for Hemsley internship
Aja Jackson, a senior from Bellevue, Neb., loves to dance and has a passion for lighting design. With a combination of these two, Jackson decided a few years ago to double major in dance and theatre with a lighting emphasis. Jackson’s goal after graduation is to be a lighting designer for dance and/or opera.

UNL Jazz given outstanding honors at festival
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Jazz Orchestra and Graduate Jazztet picked up Outstanding Ensemble honors at the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival Feb. 21-24 at Elmhurst College in Elmhurst, Ill.
One of the oldest college jazz festivals in the U.S., Elmhurst's annual celebration brings together the top names in the industry and the leading college bands from around the nation.

Chiara presents season's final Hixson-Lied concert
The Chiara String Quartet presents their final concert of the 2012-2013 Hixson-Lied Concert Series on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall, 11th and R streets on the UNL city campus.
They will be joined by Professor of Piano Mark Clinton and Assistant Professor of Bassoon Jeffrey McCray.
